Meet Our Founder
Shawn Ellis, a top-rated motivational keynote speaker specializing in resilience, never anticipated finding his passion in the meetings industry. Yet since 1999, he has dedicated his career to helping meeting planners and business leaders secure the best speakers for their events.
After leading a Nashville speakers bureau to become one of the fastest-growing privately-owned businesses in Middle Tennessee, Shawn founded The Speakers Group in late 2003. His vision was to work with a smaller, select group of motivational keynote speakers.
Shawn, along with his associate speakers at The Speakers Group, has empowered countless Fortune 500 corporations, national trade associations, healthcare organizations, universities, and various other groups. His commitment to his work earned him a spot on the board of the International Association of Speakers Bureaus, and in 2010, he received the President’s Award for his service.
Now based in Columbus, Ohio, Shawn balances his dedication to the speaking world with a love for family, hiking, mountain biking, NFL football, and music.
